Thanks for the great episode! I felt like I was a virtual sock-summit-goer! :) Leslie

Did I scare anyone off? I hope not, because it’s not as complicated as it sounds! There are no deadlines and no expected finish dates. The tutorials are going to be posted more quickly than most people are likely to finish each step, but I really think it will be helpful for those of you who may not have designed your own pattern before to be able to read ahead and know what to anticipate. In fact, if you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate to wait until all of the tutorials have been posted before jumping in.

Just as an FYI- you talk about knitting the sweater bottom up in case you ran out of yarn, so the yolk could be a different color is exactly what Elizabeth Zimmerman instructs for exactly the same reason. I guess great minds think alike.

I loved my armchair tour of Sock Summit.

who are we?

  • Jenny Check
Jenny learned to knit in 2005 and now knits to the exclusion of her personal hygiene. Her husband wonders how long this "knit from your stash" charade will continue.
  • Nicole
Nicole (aka Big Sister) is a librarian who knits. Or maybe a knitter who is a librarian. When she's not knitting on the bus or in front of the TV or at lunch or when chatting with friends, she is, well, that's pretty much it. Knitting.
