I did a fitted Orangina out of Shibui sock and I love it (or I would if I didn't have to amputate the lace from the ribbing to rip back a couple inches and then re-graft...).

I like the http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sock-recipe-a-good-plain-sock for my sock yarn because I can do this by heart and not have to pay attention.

My favorite sock pattern for sock yarn is "Monkey" by Cookie A and for non sock projects would be toys.

I love the Lace Ribbon Scarf by Veronik Avery.

You guys talked about organizing your printed patterns. Have you ever considered just scanning them to PDFs? Or printing new ones out to PDF? Macs have this ability built in, and you can get free utilities for Windows (I like PDFCreator). That's what I did, and it's totally awesome. No binders full of clutter, no losing pages, and you can search them.
I also have an app called Dropbox, which syncs a folder across multiple computers AND (this is the awesome bit) my iPhone. So I can save patterns to the folder at work or home, and all the other computers pick up the change AND I have my entire pattern library on my iPhone. It's awesome to look up how much yarn you need for some pattern while you're at the yarn shop, or continue knitting when you forgot the printed page at home.

My favorite sock yarn project is Outside In from the summer 09 Knitty.

My favorite pattern with sock yarn... log cabin blanket. It is super cute!

My favorite pattern for sock yarn so far is the Monkey sock pattern by Cookie A, but I am currently making a Girasole from sock yarn.

I just made the colourflow wrap out of Koigu mill ends. Wonderful use of many colours of this wonderful yarn. Free pattern on ravelry.......and yes, the author, Christa Giles, is Canadian, hence the "correct" spelling of the word colour! (Can you tell I'm Canadian too?)
Thanks for a great podcast, I really enjoy it.

Something I've made out of fingering weight yarn that isn't socks - intolerable cruelty

It's a skirt and I love wearing it out =)

Aestlight Shawl by Gudrun Johnston is another yummy, squishy, garter stitch triangular shawl/scarf that calls for sock yarn. Probably going to cast on for it soon!

Hi there, I love socks - but when I need a change and some colourwork I whip up a pair of Endpaper Mittens. Then, for leftovers, there's always squares for a Barn Raising Quilt. My daughter wants a pair of Rainy Day Mittens, which would require loads of different colours of sock yarn, so I'm holding her off, though they are super-cute.

My favorite pattern for sock yarn has to be Baktus. Perhaps I flatter myself, but I think I'm personally responsible for the local Baktus craze. I keep my Noro sock Baktus (with ridiculous tassles, natch) in open view in my bedroom so I see it first thing in the morning. The colors just make me happy.

Thanks, Ladies for another fun episode. I have a new love for sock yarn doubled as an "Almost worsted weight". I did three hats this way in Sept and another finished this week. It gives a nice drape.

I have to say, I made these leg warmers with a skein of heavy fingering sock yarn. I LOVE them. The pattern is easy but interesting. For me better than just StSt!

I love baby hats and booties out of sock yarn - so easy and so fun! and machine washable!

I think my favorite pattern for sock yarn (if we're talking about socks, anyway) is Monkey from Knitty, but I do it without the purls. I think I've knit it like four or five times now!

Two of my favorite non-sock-but-sockyarn patterns are both "Shetland shorty" (http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer08/PATTshetlandshorty.html) and of course, "Pioneer" (http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring09/PATTpioneer.php)

I used sock yarn to make a Montego Bay scarf and it turned out great!

I've been making pooling scarves and stoles with my sock yarn. One skein of Socks that Rock makes a pretty amazing 7' long pooling scarf -- see photos and free pattern at http://yarnfloozies.blogspot.com/2009/08/highway-60-to-sock-summit.html

Thanks for the yarn contest! I love lacey socks, I've made Rainy Day Socks (http://www.knotionsmag.com/patterns/rainy_day_socks.aspx) several times, Recently I also made the Twinkleberry lacey socks (http://www.knitzi.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=80&products_id=234). I think I'll make that again for myself in some Koigu I have in my stash for socktober! Both are beautiful, yet almost mindful knitting, easy to memorize.
For non-sock projects with sock yarn, try my free pattern for an eco-friendly coffee cozy (to replace the paper ones at the coffee shop). It's on my blog at http://bibleapologetic.blogspot.com/2009/09/hot-java-cozy.html, Ravelry link can be found there too.

I'm loving Ripple by Wendy Bernard using some gorgeous Yarn Pirate sock yarn.
Also, part of the reason that most men want coin-specific sections of their wallets is that in Europe we (I'm in the UK) have the pound/euro coin. So change isn't just the left-over bits, it's fairly substantial! ^_^

I really enjoy knitting Ishbel. Its just such a fast and easy knit.

I do like that Sagano shawl very much! I might have to cave in and buy the pattern to use with some Lisa Souza I have from Stitches South.

Now you guys have me wanting to knit a dozen things other than socks with my sock yarn! I am currently knitting Express Lane by Dianne Mulholland. These are my 4th pair of socks and I am really enjoying this pattern. Couldn't get the heel in the pattern to work for me though...not the pattern's problem, just me being too persnickety. So I switched out a different heel, no problemo! http://www.theinsideloop.com/Issue1/Patterns/Express_Lane.html
