My favorite sock pattern I've made so far is the embossed leaves pattern. So easy and fun to make!

Woo hoo! Good old fashion blog contest. Love it. My favorite pattern for using sock yarn for non-sock projects is the Storm Cloud Shawlette. I used a skein of Socks that Rock Heavyweight to make one last fall and wore it throughout the cold months. I'm excited to start wearing it again! It's a really lovely FO, but the pattern is also quick, fun, and easily taken-along. Can't include a link, but google it or ravel it if you haven't seen it before.

My favorite pattern using sock yarn is Devan from Knitty, Spring 2004.

You already mentioned this one, but my favorite non-sock pattern for sock yarn is Daybreak. BTW, my favorite all-around sock pattern is Priscilla's Dream Socks from the book "Favorite Socks". It is more like a recipe and I just love knowing the socks are going to fit perfectly when I'm done.
Love the podcast! Thanks!

My friend Nicole has a gorgeous shawl pattern for a skein of sock yarn: Deep Forest.

Baby Surprise Jacket by EZ! I've made several of them in sock yarn on size 5's.

I recently knit Yvaine, a cute scarf/triangle shawl. It was really easy and turned out great. :)

My favorite non-sock sockyarn pattern is the Lacy Baktus because that's what I'm knitting right now. :-)

I just finished Gabriel's Wings, which was a very nice one-skein shawl:

And I haven't made it yet, but Tempest is a great cardigan:

So far my favorite sock yarn pattern is Cookie A's Monkey sock. I have done them (well a version of them/ no purls toe up) twice.

I made the Aeolian shawl (from a past knitty) out of sock yarn and it was fantastic!

I really like using sock yarn for mittens, but I've also used sock yarn for the Seafoam Headband/Scarf http://www.ravelry.com/projects/woolyeyes/seafoam-headband---scarf-in-koigu
- I don't know if I have a favorite sock pattern, maybe the Hedgerows? http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hedgerow-socks-2

My favorite pattern right now is: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mirth-a-fitted-raglan-shawl.
You can make it in a lot of different weights so that's neat.

I like to make fingerless gloves out of sock yarn. That way the gloves are washable. I found a pattern for a pair of glommets (fingerless gloves with a flap that can cover the fingers or not) that I can't wait to make.

My favorite pattern for sock yarn is more of a recipe than an actual pattern: The Riverbed Master Pattern by Cat Bordhi. I can use that base pattern and put just about any other sock into. Great fit and so customizable.

Not that I need more sock yarn... My favorite sock yarn pattern at the moment is damson. I do like my garter goodness and this one has plenty of it.

As I was listening I was casing on the Woodland Shawl in Cascade Heritage sock yarn. I used Peridot Casbah for Brooke's Column of Knitted Leaves which I'm giving my sister tomorrow for her birthday.

There are so many great patterns suitable for sock yarn out there! I couldn't decide between the Selbu Modern beret http://kelbournewoolens.com/selbumodern.html
and a pair of striped fingerless mitts and matching gift bag made from a skein of Noro sock
http://lyns-shadesofgrey.blogspot.com/2008/11/on-knitting-stress-and-swaps.html
The stripes are accomplished by knitting alternately from the outside and center of the ball.

I am crazy about the baby hats- esp. Norwegian baby hat. Plus there is usually enough for booties. Great baby shower gift.
Also, I am making a sock yarn blanket out of remnants, which might be done in the next decade or so- not huge high hopes for that, he he.

Two of my favorite non-sock sock-yarn patterns are the yarmulke from Greetings from the Knit Cafe and the Star-Stitch Headband (free via Ravelry). Both are also great for leftovers if you do knit socks. :) THANKS for the great episode!

i loved making the noro silk kerchief, by kate gagnon--it uses two different colorways of silk garden sock, and it's lovely!

Oh, I forgot: The other pattern I love for sock yarn (or any fingering weight) is the Square Baby Shawl by EZ. This is infinitely variable. Also the Pinwheel Blanket from Knitalong is great in sock-weight yarn as a baby blanket.
