Great episode. I was so excited to hear you talk about the new Blackstone Tweed book. I recently blogged about it -- and Nonpareil -- here:

I love going through my IK with the gals and hear their thoughts on each pattern!

They mentioned knitting for charity since they don't need hats yet. I like Socks For Soldiers (Ravelry group link is http://www.ravelry.com/groups/socks-for-soldiers-inc).

Dudddde! They just released IK back issues on CD-ROM! I'm totally selling my mags and getting the digi versions! I hates clutter =)

One of my favorite charities is Adopt a Native Elder. (From their web site)http://www.anelder.org/
Miracles From the Sky: The Program is organized in the Native American Spirit of the Giveaway Circle. The Giveaway Circle has a tradition of giving the best that we have. That may be a gift of time, talents or skills, or actual gifts of food and clothing. When asked what the boxes of food and clothing meant to her, Ruth Benally explained that they were like "miracles from the sky." The miracle is the letters and gifts that arrive from people that they don't know and may never meet.

That green sweater, Nuss, is by Cirilia Rose!

who are we?

  • Jenny Check
Jenny learned to knit in 2005 and now knits to the exclusion of her personal hygiene. Her husband wonders how long this "knit from your stash" charade will continue.
  • Nicole
Nicole (aka Big Sister) is a librarian who knits. Or maybe a knitter who is a librarian. When she's not knitting on the bus or in front of the TV or at lunch or when chatting with friends, she is, well, that's pretty much it. Knitting.
