Susan

I vote for the Viennese Shrug. It's really elegant and looks like a perfect shrug to wear at a wedding. Have fun!

Angie Gallas

I live in the Balt. area and trust me, you do not want the longer sleeves of the Viennese Shrug for a summer wedding here. I have a Debbie Bliss 100% silk shrug with elbow length sleeves (Silverbell on Rav.) which looks similar to the Viennese except with arrowhead lace and even that is way too hot for summer. I would chose the shorter Little Peacock with a beautiful, hand made flower (from the dress?) and no button.

Whistlepea

I prefer Little Peacock too.

I really want that dress pattern now but it's out of print. To Ebay!

PS - I think Ysolda's name is pronounced IS-all-da and Connie's last name is Kin-key-oh.

I looooooooove that Jenny is weaving. I hope Nicole is hooked too. I couldn't tell from the 'cast if she had already woven something.

I agree that Noro can be challenging as warp since they are singles but Noro Kureyon was pretty decent as a warp thread. Thank you so much for warning me about Noro Silk Garden sock b/c I was about use some for my next scarf project!

Warped Love to you both!

Ah, a long Stash and Burn episode -- just what I needed! :) I'm glad you liked the summer issue of IK especially because an essay I wrote (titled "Knitting Emmy") appears on the back page of that issue. :) Leslie

Katrina

I like Dawn!

Margaret

I really like Dawn, but I think the Viennese Shrug better compliments the style of your dress.

Sounds like Baltimore is one of those places that doesn't cool down at night, though. Maybe go shopping for acid yellow linen?

orata

I love the Viennese shrug, so I totally vote for that one! I bought that issue of IK for that pattern alone.

Hazel

I vote for the Viennese shrug,in fact so much so I am coveting one as well :o)

Rachel

Definitely the Little Peacock. Now I want to dive into my stash and see if I have yarn for it! :)

nicole ... though you love the viennese shrug, have you considered a shawl (for its versatility) ? i think the spring '09 IK "Sweet Lily Shawl" ... though, it sounds like your yarn is heavier, and you may not have enough yardage.
i'm just in love with this shawl right now, so i'm projecting ;)
otherwise, i vote for the v. shrug!

who are we?

  • Jenny Check
Jenny learned to knit in 2005 and now knits to the exclusion of her personal hygiene. Her husband wonders how long this "knit from your stash" charade will continue.
  • Nicole
Nicole (aka Big Sister) is a librarian who knits. Or maybe a knitter who is a librarian. When she's not knitting on the bus or in front of the TV or at lunch or when chatting with friends, she is, well, that's pretty much it. Knitting.
