DUDES, how do you do it!?!??!? I have to finish a wedding shawl for a friend that is getting married on Saturday! Lucky for me it's on the rigid heddle loom, but I'm using fine yarns that stick to themselves (like Kid Silk Haze) and it's slow goings. I wish the both of us GODSPEED, quite literally.

Holy crap, that last song ruuuuuuuuules.

I hope you made the deadline for the shawl in a semi-sane fashion. All the talk about Anne Shirley is because it is the 100th anniversary of Anne of Green Gables. Thank you both for your podcast, I really enjoy it.

Heh. My wedding shawl was the first large lace project I ever completed successfully. I knitted the Song of Hiawatha stole. I started in January, finished in March, and proudly wore it in my wedding on May 1.

So it CAN be done!

I can't believe you mentioned Anne of Green Gables! That's hilarious. I used to watch the Anne movies all of the time when I was little. I've caught bits of it on PBS lately too and can recite all of the dialogue. My husband thinks that's amusing, yet scary.

7long hats are on the way this weekend.

I enjoyed the latest episode. I am working on my first lace shawl (the Shetland Triangel, thanks to Nicole's sound advice). Although it's not hard, I have to concentrate soooooo much and count at the end of every row to make sure I don't lose a YO. Although I like the result so far, I don't like how I have to have a solid block of time to knit it. Also, Jenny, you mentioned the Kindle -- I have one too -- don't you love it? THANKS again for the great episode. :) Leslie

FYI, you're seeing Anne Shirley everywhere because this year is the centenary of the publication of Anne of Green Gables!

Yes, let me also chime in to say that Lobsterdust kicks! Cheers for that (and for your equally kickin podcast)!

Loved the felt flowers and bouquet Nicole's mom made. Does she do custom work?

The bowl is probably more suited as a yarn bowl than plying bowl since it's a little shallow (unless you have a really mini ball to ply). Photos on the 7long Rav thread.

who are we?

  • Jenny Check
Jenny learned to knit in 2005 and now knits to the exclusion of her personal hygiene. Her husband wonders how long this "knit from your stash" charade will continue.
  • Nicole
Nicole (aka Big Sister) is a librarian who knits. Or maybe a knitter who is a librarian. When she's not knitting on the bus or in front of the TV or at lunch or when chatting with friends, she is, well, that's pretty much it. Knitting.
