"I bought you. I own you." Hysterical! If only my own stash would listen...

Fabulous! I didn't get a chance to see Stephanie during this tour, so it's nice to get a chance to hear her.

Yea!!! buy now for retirement ! Finally I am not alone in my reasoning.

Pick me!!! :)

Loved the interview! If I had never started knitting I would have never learned about Stephanie. I would be missing out!

Most important thing I learned from knitting: Patience with the yarn, the needles and myself.

Many thanks for the great interview!

Great interview guys! I never thought of donating stash to a nursing home or care center, great idea!

I am a newbie to knitting - have been crocheting for awhile. I absolutely love Stephanie! I think she is great!!! I think what I have learned is to be less structured. I always wanted to knit exactly as the pattern says, but I have learned that I dont knit like the person who made the pattern, so I may have to do something a little bit differently. It was hard for me to really get that, but once I did, it made knitting so much easier!

BREAK---TOO LONNNNG.

Just kidding, I understand you have busy lives and all, I just felt like Hulking out a little =)

I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing Steph speak! Thanks for giving my the opportunity to ROFL.

Loved the podcast...I subscribed!

This was just one of many great podcasts from the two of you that have brightened my work day from time to time. First Norah, now Stephanie. Thank God for a private office and what a nice way to spend my lunch hour!

One of the things I've learned from knitting is which mistakes I can live with and which ones are worth tinking back hundreds of stitches for...and from the Yarn Harlot I've learned that it's ok to laugh about either choice.

Forgot to say what I've learned from knitting. What haven't I learned from knitting! I've learned (among other things) patience and how to deal with frustration; the pleasure of being able to focus on the present, one stitch at a time; the value of tactile and visual experiences; the joy of making something beautiful and useful for someone or myself; the sense of community in connecting with other knitters. You name it.

Aww, no visit to Austin this book tour.
I really enjoyed her talk when she came for Knitting Rules.

I am a bit of a newbie to your podcast, btw. Love it. :)

another wonderful episode.
I have loved the blog cast since day 1.

That was a great podcast. I love Stephanie.
One thing I've learned from knitting..if it doesn't turn out right and it's made out of wool it's ment to be felted.

The amazing thing I've learned from knitting is that I can be creative, work with colors and texture, and nurture myself and others all at the same time. Amazing.

Knitting is so forgiving; it fosters community, patience, connection ...

No. you. DIDN'T!! You two just have the best danged podcast there is, that's the end of the story. So awesome to hear the interview with Stephanie.

One thing I've learned from knitting is confidence in myself in new endeavors! And something profound about practice that I'm not prepared to spell out in a comment text box. :)

What did I learn from knitting? I learned knitting! I learned this thing that has swallowed me whole and keeps me happy. But I could probably still learn something from the Yarn Harlot's book, which it turns out is not even on order at the Toronto Public Library. Her own home town! It's a travesty.

I have learned that there are endless combinations of what I can do with knitting.

Patience, commitment, perseverance, creativity, insight, what looks and feels good on me, sharing, belonging...I could go on. It's a rich experience that crosses lines on many levels.

Thanks for this interview. I missed out on the fair after planning a visit, and it was nice to get this peek at her talk.

Lately what I've been learning from knitting is that socks don't knit themselves--I started this pair back in OneSkeinSeptember. :(

Things I learned from knitting:

1. That tinking is not a bad thing during fair isle.
2. Alcohol helps with difficult techniques sometimes.
3. That knitting brings people together. My best friend and I met through knitting and it has brought us closer then ever.
4. Gauge is important.
5. Acrylic nails and yarn can get interesting.

who are we?

  • Jenny Check
Jenny learned to knit in 2005 and now knits to the exclusion of her personal hygiene. Her husband wonders how long this "knit from your stash" charade will continue.
  • Nicole
Nicole (aka Big Sister) is a librarian who knits. Or maybe a knitter who is a librarian. When she's not knitting on the bus or in front of the TV or at lunch or when chatting with friends, she is, well, that's pretty much it. Knitting.
