I have to admit that I skipped to Amanda's interview. I'll go back to listen to the rest of the episode, but thanks for putting a smile on our faces! If you had interviewed her at the end of the weekend, she would have been forced to admit to a little, um, stash enhancement. We bought some yarn to make fingerless mitts for her teachers this year. With any luck, it will all be used up by the end of the school year! Thanks again you guys. Really great to see you.

Thanks for a fun episode. :) I just listened to it while jogging in GG Park on this gorgeous SF day.

What a fun podcast! I especially loved the interview with Amanda. How cute is she?! A 10-year old with a stash and a UFO problem. Awesome. You should be very proud, Jocelyn!

How can you not love the Norah Gaughan books, and the naming conventions she uses? Brill.

Thanks for taking me to Stitches, metaphorically speaking. Co-workers just came back, but I like your stuff better than theirs (stash-wise).

And now that I know I am a "warm spring," (per previous podcast) I feel confident in knitting Curer in the tomato red I already bought to wear at TNNA in case I bump into the divine Norah.

Represent.

Nice podcast, ladies! I've never been able to go to a fiber festival (or whatever you call these events), but this podcast made me feel like I got to experience a little bit of it. The yarn you both bought is amazing! And the Norah Gaughan books - gotta get those. Half of my Rav queue is from those books.

Best part of the podcast? "I've lost Jenny in the Webs booth." Second best? Amanda! Get that girl on Ravelry!

I really enjoy both of you and look forward to your podcast. I teach 5th graders and loved listening to Amanda. Thank you for taking us on your trips. Great job!

Hi Jenny and Nicole,

My daughter and I enjoyed meeting you Friday night at Stitches West.

I just made a donation to The House That Yarn Built, and I have a challenge for all the S&B listeners: I pledge that for every dollar I spend on my yarn habit from now until March 31, I will match with an equal donation.

It's a win-win: either my stash does not grow, OR the house does.

Let's raise a house!

Lori

Another excellent episode. I recognized you both at once at Stitches West, but you were both involved in an interview.

Especially loved the interview with Amanda.

I loved your visit to the fibre fest, and the star for me was Amanda, what a lovely little girl she is. I'm based in the UK and have just been to the Creative Stitches show in Glasgow and seen a life size knitted gingerbread house. It is gorgeous and is raising funds for The Great Ormond St Hospital (for Sick Children) in London. I was so inspired that I've signed up to knit squares for the next massive project which is an undersea tableau to raise funds for RNLI ( The Lifeboat Charity in the UK). I hadn't realised that knit shows could be so fun .Thank you for sharing yours with us.

Sleeping on it usually helps me. Maybe more yarn was "meant to be."

I think it's all a matter of balance, and knowing what tends to be used and what isn't.

Keep your malabrigo/manos straight. I know some devotees here who would not be amused. ;) (Just kidding)

Wait, what's the tuck stitch? (I'd like to see a felted cable.)

One of my LYS's is doing a knitting backwards class, but's in the middle of the day on a weekday. :(

It's funny hearing the guys do the stash diet the "guy" way (with bets and dares ;)

I want to see what Amanda was knitting.

I really enjoyed what Toots LeBlanc had to say. I share her "no fiber/yarn is bad" philosophy, and it's good to know she worked hard to get where she is. (Next time I buy yarn, I'm going to tell my Mom it's "R&D")

Tell Toots to come to Kid n' Ewe. That's as far out as I get:

who are we?

  • Jenny Check
Jenny learned to knit in 2005 and now knits to the exclusion of her personal hygiene. Her husband wonders how long this "knit from your stash" charade will continue.
  • Nicole
Nicole (aka Big Sister) is a librarian who knits. Or maybe a knitter who is a librarian. When she's not knitting on the bus or in front of the TV or at lunch or when chatting with friends, she is, well, that's pretty much it. Knitting.
