Thank you for producing such a fabulous podcast. I will miss my weekly installment while you two are resting up. I hope you have a great holiday!
Oh, I too am knitting the Iceland sweater right now. Instead of using the Rowan yarn, I'm using Berkshire Bulky from Webs. Yesterday, in the most random fashion, I met someone from Ravelry who knit that sweater a few months ago. She used Cocoon and says that its drapes nicely. She also reported that she's been getting a lot of wear out of it! That's encouraging!

Jenny - reducing the size of your stash by 13K yds is nothing to sneeze at. Kudos!
Over the year of listening to your thought-provoking podcast, what I've come to realize - for me at least - is that buying a sweaters' worth of yarn that I'm not ready to cast on for immediately means it will stay in my stash while my enthusiasm for it wanes. That makes it difficult to start the intended project or find another suitable one. The most successful sweater projects for me have been knit with recently purchased yarn.
For smaller quantities though, you and other listeners have made me aware of the fact that there are tons of great patterns for smaller quantities of yarn.
So in 2008 I am going to limit sweater quantities (even if they are a Great Deal) and invest more in smaller quantities, and keep the stash fresh by using it!
Thanks for sharing your ideas, thought and voices over the past year. Enjoy your holidays, and your break and hope we'll hear from you again!

Thanks for a great year!! I loved your show and went back to the beginning of the season to play catch up. After listening to a few of your podcasts, i thought about the few novelty yarns I had and wished I had a stash. Pooof! A friend sent me a box of knit-picks yarn. I actually have a small stash to burn now.

what's the yarn used in the scarf shown? Malabrigo, the softest yarn ever?

I gotta tell you that when Nicole talked about needing felted mitts for bed, I was laughing out loud along with Jenny. Too funny! But if you're looking for a good felt mitt pattern, there's a nice one in Knit One Felt Too called Double-Cuff Mittens. They're kind of like oven mitts with a ribbed cuff inside. lol

Happy holidays! This year has seen major stash acquisition for me, and even though I'm headed in the opposit direction, I've truly enjoyed your podcasts. Have a great new year and I look forward to hearing from you both in January.

I only caught on to you girls this fall, so the break is coming crushingly soon for me, but I've really enjoyed your podcast and will look forward to it lighting up again in the otherwise bleak days of late winter!

Happy Holidays Girls!
And congratulations on your personal achievements.
Make a blankie from your bits of left over yarn, like miter squares of sock yarn, or just stockinette stitch. Left over yarn being that little bit of stuff you really can't do anything with, but can't throw out. How sacrilegious!
Enjoy your time off and hear you next year.

I think my New Year's Resolution is to swatch more.
I believe you guys have your stash under control, but I have trouble believing you don't want to go to stitches. (If not just to see.)
I want to see that Ravelry thread on materialism. I wonder about that too, sometime.
