I just clicked on all the links, but did not see anything that looked like the pink swatch you used for the episode logo. That's a great stitch pattern. What is it?

Leslie

another great show -- thanks!

Heather

Loved the new episode. Thanks. Is the pink thing the beginnings of Shedir??

Nice show! You guys deserve a break, enjoy and rest up. I'm trying to get into the one skein groove here myself, but having limited success. What is the song at the end of the podcast, anyway? Can't find it on the show notes.

I'm so excited that the contest has been extended!

Janette's Rare Yarns is a good source for Calmer.

I'm on the other end of things with Calmer. I need about 25 skeins for Morrigan. I may have to asked for Webs gift certificates for Christmas to pay for it (I'm searching for substitutes that are cheaper.)

"No Sheep" goes into great detail on why Calmer is so stretchy. It's all in the construction.

The camel blend looks great. What's the gauge?

I've been looking for all sorts of stuff. I want to make some Octopi and some Dinosaurs.

Also, I'm working on Maze hat, and wrestling to get the gauge. (I may just CO a different amount.)

Nicole, 26 is way too long for your Dad's sleeves. My dh is really tall (6'4") and I am currently knitting a sweater for him. I have a sweater of his that I like how it fits and I'm using that for measurements and an ease guide. I think you should ask your dad to measure the sleeves and width of a sweater he has that fits well.
In any case, I think your dad measured his arms from way up in his armpit, and he may have added some. I measured dh from the pit to a generous wrist length and it was 25 inches. Then I measured the base sweater and it was 22. And he's a tall guy... So I wouldn't knit your dad's sleeves to 26, no matter what he thinks. And if you do, I guess you should knit foldback mitten cuffs onto the ends of the sleeve because I fear the sleeves will completely cover his hands.

I knit the Santa Cruz hat last year in a variegated yarn and loved it, but, Jenny, your suspected adaptations are probably spot on. I finished mine, wove in the ends, and then decided that it was just going to drive me nuts if it kept creeping up past my ears. I pulled it out, knit another round, and ended up being much, much happier with me. I love hats and found it was perfect for a cool day where a full-on hat might be too warm.

Another awesome episode! As you know I'm totally into the Single Skein madness and loved listening to you talk about projects you're working on. I immediately bought the Gretel beret pattern - so cute!! And I just happen to have a lone skein of Malabrigo, too.

Enjoy a well deserved break!

The episode only came up as 37 seconds on my computer :-(

I just want to thank you guys for always being interesting, fun and on topic. I love the fact that I can tune in to your podcast, and it really will be some fun talk about knitting. Enjoy your break. I'll miss you.

Of course, it figures that as soon as I get caught up on episodes (I just started listening), you guys take a break! ;-)

Well, enjoy it. I'll be waiting patiently for the next episode when you get back!

who are we?

  • Jenny Check
Jenny learned to knit in 2005 and now knits to the exclusion of her personal hygiene. Her husband wonders how long this "knit from your stash" charade will continue.
  • Nicole
Nicole (aka Big Sister) is a librarian who knits. Or maybe a knitter who is a librarian. When she's not knitting on the bus or in front of the TV or at lunch or when chatting with friends, she is, well, that's pretty much it. Knitting.
