Great show! But count me out of the yarn contest, I'm still working on a scarf and it will be 4-5 years before I'm ready for more yarn...

Steph

Fun listening!
The concept is great, the will power just isn't there - especially with all the links I've never visited. . .

I Love the show. I'm a new knitter for a year now. I live in the depths of Northern Canada. There is only one yarn store here, with not much selection so I buy all my yarn off the internet. I'm not used to looking at, or touching yarn before I buy it, consequently my stash is limited to what is left over after a project has been completed. I don't know if this is a plus?

Laura

Hey Ladies :)

Thanks for a fun listen, I played it over the pc speakers so my husband could hear that Iam not alone. As I too am knitting from the stash and taking it one day at a time.

Can't wait till the next one, all the best.

Laura in Ontario.

I love your show! I always thought I had a major stash problem, but it doesn't seem to be quite 67,000 yards worth! Oh and I love the Grr...arrgh from Buffy at the end :D

Lizzy

Love the new podcast - keep 'em coming!

Jenneke

Hi there! Just found your podcast and there's allready a second one show. I'm trying to burn some stash - not to be taken literally - but so far, attempts have not been really succesfull. Thanks for the podcast, greatings from Holland

Celia

I downloaded, I listened, and I'm still saying WOWIE, WOW, WOW! I love the idea of developing the West Coast blog/podcasting ethos. And half an hour is a really manageable length. Just perfect for bedtime or the walk to work! As for burning stash, I have miles to go before I sleep.

Jackie

Fab half hour -- like my own mini-west-coast stitch and bitch! So fun, thanks for doing this.

(p.s. Nicole, I had a brush with a radio career too!)

Michele

Jie and I listened to the whole podcast with pleasure although we are not ourselves stashers, hoarders, destashers, collectors, or even, well, knitters. At least Yoyo will learn to recognize Auntie Jenny's voice!

Alma

Great 2 episodes. Very entertaining. And inspiring to say the least. I've taken out my latest project which has been languishing for 2 years, and that's not even the sweater that I've been working on for the past 10! But still, I find myself excited about the sock yarn you're giving away! If I were a serious knitter, I would definitely have a stash.

Carolyn

Hi Nicole and Jenny,
I just found your podcast and love the show! Thanks so much for taking the time to put together such great shows. I'm really loving them.

Carolyn

(P.S. By the way, I really need a sock yarn from youuguys!! I need a sock yarn to knit "Jaywalker" socks, i was dreaming about!!)

LoAnnie

Since I can't knit while I work, it's nice to be able to listen to talk about knitting. I really enjoyed the show.

Kelly

I just finished listening to episode 2. I learned about your show thru the Knitting Psychos podcast (I think). Anyway, I'm a college knitter about to graduate in May and not very sure about what I should do with my life in terms of a career. The show is very interesting. You guys voices sound very clear and professional, almost celebrity like.

jaeleen

You two ROCK!!!! Just found out about the podcast from Yarnagogo. I live in Santa Cruz and I'm frantically trying to destash before I make the pilgramage to Artfibers. Doubling/tripling yarn helps, as does crocheting instead of knittig (it uses up about 1/3 more yarn, and, for me, it's way faster). See you at Stitches-- Keep it coming!!!!

celeste

*love* your show. i do feel it portrays a bay area feel - the natural inclusive language of the area, the dry humor of the openness of folks here. definitely my new favorite knitting podcast!
well done!
de-stashing.
i'm motivated now to dump all my yarn in the living room and organize by type. i just ordered skeins for dyeing and making thermal. my stash is quite small though, nonetheless, I want to knit it up and send it out into the world.
thanks again!

Shannon B

I am So. Wigging.

Just about through the second episode, and do you know what will keep me listening faithfully? This little gem right here:

"...(I've got) seasons of Buffy on DVD..."

I am a crazed, stashbusting knit maniac from the West Coast whose two most fulfilling joys in my life are yarn and Buffy. After the kids are in bed I put in part of the "Chosen Collection", grab the needles, and spend a celestial hour or two immersed in my addictions.

Thanks for the podcast - and for more inspiration to destash.

Sue

Greetings from another Westcoast knitter...in beautiful British Columbia.
Great show, I love listening while I knit. I find both of your voices to be very soothing and likable.
Cheers!

Mia

I haven't had a chance to listen to this episode but I loved the first one.

Lee

Great podcast! As a native San Franciscan now living on the East Coast, I really appreciate the West Coast perspective. Can't wait until your next episode!

Scoutj

Oh fun! I needed a new podcast to listen to while I dye my yarn. Can't wait to check you guys out!

Stef

Hey, I came here through Yarn-A-Go-Go too. Both episodes were really enjoyable, and I'm looking forward to the next.

You touched briefly on how stash accumulation is like buying books faster than you can read them. Tangential to that, will your de-stashing include paring down books? I feel like my personal stash battle is the accumulation of printed references, mostly magazines. It's hard to justify getting rid of them... even if 90% of one is awful, there might be some useful scrap of inspiration in there somewhere. I really wish Interweave would offer their yearly subscriptions in PDF form.

Have a good week!

Stacey

Hello! I really enjoy the podcast - I'm another westcoast knitter (Portland) so it is fun to hear west coast slant. Anyway, I heard about Stash & Burn from the Knitting Psychos podcast.

You guys are great - please keep putting them out, I hate when intersting podcasters disappear.

Deb

I am really enjoying your Podcast! You share a lot of my feelings/habits about knitting. Although I live in NJ, my sister is an avid Bay Area knitter, so listening to you two makes me feel closer to her! Keep it up!

who are we?

  • Jenny Check
Jenny learned to knit in 2005 and now knits to the exclusion of her personal hygiene. Her husband wonders how long this "knit from your stash" charade will continue.
  • Nicole
Nicole (aka Big Sister) is a librarian who knits. Or maybe a knitter who is a librarian. When she's not knitting on the bus or in front of the TV or at lunch or when chatting with friends, she is, well, that's pretty much it. Knitting.
