Jenny and Nicole head to Santa Clara for Stitches West. They muse on the changes at Stitches, talk with Rick Mondragon of Knitter's/XRX, chat with Jonelle Raffino of Southwest Trading Company, and report from the field. Warning: Our levels might be a little crazy as we were still getting used to our field recording device. We apologize in advance.

Back next week with more from Stitches . . .

You guys sound like such pros! This is great -- but seriously, what did you buy? Hmmm?

Rick is a great guy to work with- it's like being in the eye of a tornado. Next year (if he's teaching it), you should take his "Knit to Fit" class.

What a great show!! I felt like I was right there at Stitches with you. And the interviews were terrific - it's like getting the inside scoop. I can't wait for Part II next week. And hey, how about a big picture of all the yarn purchased??? :)

Yay! ... [wait for it] .. Yay!

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your first Stitches podcast! I really think it was your best podcast yet, and I can't wait to hear episode 2 from Stitches.
I'm a new listener, but I've gone through all your episodes and I'm hooked :)

The background sounds on the floor brought back all the sounds of Stitches. Sigh. Like Christmas day, it's over too soon.

I got the yarn on Tuesday night. Thank you so much! I've never won anything before. I just listened to you show over the weekend and I wish I was there with you guys. I guess I'll just wait for Stitches Midwest this August.

Oh wow! Thank you SO much for this awesome episode- there is nothing remotely like this where I live (Germany) so it was great to visit "in podcast" if not in person. And thank you for the link for the log cabin blanket- that might indeed be a very very good idea for all that sock yarn. (My mother suggested handing it over to my hens for nesting material- I don't think so!)

Just discovered you guys, and it's definitely love. Rock on!

Just wanted to let you know that you guys are the first podcast I have ever listened to and I loved it! My first episode was #4 last week and I proceeded to listen to all the back episodes, too. I love your voices and the both of you are so entertaining. Keep up the good work!

I know the perfect solution that works the best for destashing!!! If you interested - I'll answer!

Great podcast! I just discovered you last night & added you to my itunes. I've spent the day spinning and catching up with your episodes. Of course spinning only serves to increase my yarn stash. . .
I'm looking forward to hearing more about your trip to Stitches.

Love the show! I wasn't able to go to SW, but it's nice to be able to ride along with you guys by proxy.

*sigh* now I'm so jealous... as Nadine wrote, there's nothing comparable here in Germany... Nadine, btw. if you want to get rid of the sock yarn, just send it up here :)
I wished I could have gone with you (major struggling with words here ;) ) just to buy some of all these great patterns and o.k. some of the yarn that will never be available here in my neck of the woods...
o.k. should go back to the couch, pout and knit to destash :)
Another "destashing-tip" :)
Get one of these dry-felting needles and felt some yarn to fabric and make something cool like a handback...
Works well for roving too :)

OMG, I JUST ordered the Vicki Howell new yarns, all 3 to be exact and I am soooo pumped to get it from WEBS. Also, I am VERY new to Podcasts and found yours and I LOVE it. I am soooo needing to stash bust, but yeah, like THAT ain't happening. LOL

Great job, again, ladies!
I just cast on for my first forecast- using Plymouth Tweed for mine. It is a fun pattern and I am moving right along. Can't wait to see yours!
Love the interview- I gotta check out that tofutsies stuff now.

Loved this podcast esp. the the interview with Rick! I had no idea he was so funny :)
Posted by: Kent | March 10, 2007 at 09:53 AM
Hello! I'm catching up on your podcast, and I must say that I loved this one. The interviews were terrific! But I have a silly question that is going to prove how "not in the know" I really am. What were the Sally books you and Rick were referring to? See, I told you I was totally outing myself here. :)

Hi Ladies!
I'm behind in my podcasts, but am loving yours! And you play abba and Erasure. Yay! I'm an SF native, in Buffalo, and your show makes me homesick! Great work!
